2012Acoustic, pop, alternative and rock — Alex's signature spiritual and inspirational lyrics. Led by the single "Drawn."
2012The heavier companion — aggressive, metal-shaped rock n roll showing the other side of the range.
"That's just the way I'm drawn — it's all right, 'cause there's no wrong."
Raised in suburban Philadelphia and Phoenix, music was there early — piano, alto sax and trombone, then the guitar and the rock n roll that changed everything. Poison and Guns N' Roses opened a door that led backward to Alice Cooper, The Doors and Led Zeppelin, and forward to Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Shinedown.
Then came the detour: college, the "American Dream," the chase for success — and a guitar set down for years. When he picked it back up, a love he'd lost came roaring back, and with it the entrance to a spiritual path.
In 2001, forming his first band since high school, Alex had a "Dark Night of the Soul" — and out of it came a song that "wrote itself," Duality, later released by his band Vonzeles (New Existence, 2004; The Next One, 2007).
Through Conversations With God, Ram Dass, Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle, the music transformed. Adopting the name Alex Von Z, he turned to rock that stays current and relevant but speaks to spirit — devotional songwriting for a modern attention span. Today he writes from a vegan, awakened life: positive concepts in honest rock.
Vonzeles produced by Ken Mary — drummer and producer for Alice Cooper, Gene Simmons, House of Lords.
"A thrilling and impressive blend of melodic rock and aggressive, metal-shaped rock n roll."
"When listening to 'Drawn'… ready for radio. The melodies are apt. The vocals are pleasing."
"He left behind the rat race, adopted the name Alex Von Z, went vegan, and began to cultivate his latent spirituality."
